LeadershipPresident Levi Ladd
Levi Ladd is a Senior Lead Land Surveyor and Newport AVP for Main-Land Development Consultants, bringing two decades of geospatial engineering consulting expertise to the profession. Over the course of his career, he has contributed his skills to some of Maine’s most respected engineering firms, including Main-Land, Sewall, Haley Ward, and Kleinschmidt Associates. A graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington (B.A. in Geography, 2006) and the University of Maine (Graduate Certificate in Surveying Engineering, 2023), Levi combines technical expertise with a forward-looking approach to the surveying profession. As an active leader within the surveying community, Levi is especially focused on increasing professional awareness, addressing workforce attrition, and strengthening collaboration with neighboring survey associations. He believes these priorities are essential to ensuring the vitality and resilience of the profession in Maine and beyond. Raised in Milo and now living in Dexter with his wife and four children, Levi also pursues a range of personal and community interests. He is a Registered Maine Guide who operates a part-time guiding service, and he contributes locally as a winter basketball coach. His professional affiliations, past and present, include the Maine Society of Land Surveyors (MSLS), the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), the Maine GIS Users Group, and the Maine Professional Guides Association. Secretary Kevin Farrar.png) Kevin Farrar began his career in land surveying with Technical Services, Inc. in 1986 upon receiving his Associates Degree in Architectural and Civil Engineering Technology from Central Maine Community College in Auburn. He earned his professional surveyors license in 1991 and he currently works for Summit Geoengineering Services in Lewiston. He has been a member of the Maine Society of Land Surveyors from 1987-present and has served as Secretary for MSLS Executive Committee, 2000 - present and was Androscoggin Chapter President in 1992. Kevin resides in Lewiston with his wife, Eve. Children include Matthew, Megan, Kelly, Gabriella and Victoria. Hobbies include traveling and cooking.Treasurer Jimmy Courbron Jimmy received his B.S. degree in Survey Engineering Technology for the University of Maine in 2009. He is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Maine and Massachusetts and is a partner at Terradyn Consultants, LLC where he directs their survey department out of his Auburn, Maine office. Jimmy is the current Treasurer of MSLS and is also an active member of MALSE and NSPS. He lives in Brunswick with his wife and daughter (and in-laws, God bless him) from where they like to explore the various parks and trails along MidCoast. Jimmy also recently developed an affinity for golf, and, despite what you may have seen, his game is improving.

Jonathan M. Stewart has been a Maine Professional Land Surveyor since 2001 and has been with the firm Plisga & Day full time since 1998, currently as President. Prior and expertise roles include Operations Manager, Project Management, GPS Surveys, Site Development, Subdivisions, Geographic Information Systems, Hydrographic Surveys, laser scanning, drone deployment and point cloud processing. His education includes a Master of Science, Spatial Information Science and Engineering (Surveying Engineering), University of Maine (1997) and a Bachelor of Science, Bio-Resource Engineering, University of Maine (1993). Mr. Stewart is Past-Director and Past President of the Penobscot-Hancock Chapter of MSLS and is currently an MSLS Director at Large. Jon enjoys hiking, camping and canoeing with family, cross-country skiing and old man tennis.
